Why is the PNG larger than my JPG?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, which makes photographs much bigger. If size matters, keep the JPG or try WebP.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. JPG has no transparency, so the PNG will look the same as your JPG, with no transparent areas.
Does converting improve the image?
No. Converting changes the file format only. It cannot bring back detail lost when the JPG was created.
