- The result appears as you type: valid, or an error with its line and column.
- Fix the problem shown and the check updates automatically.
About JSON Validator
The JSON Validator checks whether text follows the JSON syntax rules. It is useful before sending data to an API, saving a config file, or when a program reports a parse error.
It checks syntax only, not whether the data matches a particular schema or has the fields an application expects. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
Features
- Live validation as you type
- Exact line and column of the first error
- Plain-language hints for common mistakes
- Summary of the valid document (object, array and size)
Frequently asked questions
Why does it show only one error?
JSON parsers stop at the first syntax error. Fix it and the tool will report the next one, if any.
Does it validate against a JSON Schema?
No. It checks syntax only.
Are comments allowed in JSON?
No. Standard JSON does not allow comments, so files that contain them will be reported as invalid.
