How to use PDF to JPG
- Upload a PDF. The tool will count its pages and default to page 1.
- Set the page number, the render scale (1× to 4×), the output format (JPG or PNG) and, for JPG, the quality.
- Click Convert page. A preview will appear below and you can download the file or convert a different page.
About PDF to JPG
PDF to JPG uses the PDF.js renderer — the same battle-tested engine that Firefox uses for viewing PDFs — to draw each page onto an HTML canvas. The canvas is then exported as either a JPG (tuneable quality, small files) or PNG (lossless, best for screenshots, charts and sharp text).
Vector shapes, text, gradients, form fields and most annotations are supported by the renderer exactly as you would see them in a PDF viewer, not rasterised from a static image.
Features
- Render any page at 1× up to 4× for very-high-resolution output
- Choose between JPG (adjustable quality) or PNG (lossless)
- On-screen preview before you download
- Shows output dimensions, file size and file name
Frequently asked questions
When should I pick PNG instead of JPG?
Use PNG for line art, diagrams, screenshots, anything with flat colours or transparency. Use JPG for photos and scanned pages where you want to trade some quality for a much smaller file.
Can I convert every page at the same time?
Not yet; this initial version processes one page at a time to keep memory usage predictable. Use the splitter first if you want to convert many pages, then reopen each fragment.
Why is the image slightly larger or smaller than I expected?
A PDF page is measured in points (72 points = 1 inch). The final pixel size is points × scale. A 4× scale roughly means 288 DPI, while 1× is 72 DPI screen resolution.
